From the Fog Horn

Quoting.
"One day many years ago a man walked along and stood in the sound
of the ocean on a cold sunless shore and said, ‘We need a voice that
is like to call across the water, to warn ships; I’ll make one. I’ll make
a voice like all of time and all of the fog that ever was; I’ll make a
voice that is like an empty bed beside you all night long, and like an
empty house when you open the door, and like trees in autumn with
no leaves. A sound like November wind and the sea on the hard, cold
shore. I’ll make a sound that’s so alone that no one can miss it. That
whoever hears it will weep in their souls, and hearths will seem
warmer, and being inside will seem better to all who hear it in the
distant towns. I’ll make me a sound and an apparatus and they’ll
call it a Fog Horn and whoever hears it will know the sadness of
eternity and the brightness of life.”

A poetic explanation for the existance of fog horns!

Ray Bradbury

I keep on writing about him because whenever I read his opinions on man and life hope invades my space and I also start believing in a better world!

Man and God!

As Ray Bradbury puts it "Man is a fusion of the human and divine. I believe that the flesh of man contains the very soul of God, that we are, finally, irrevocably and responsibly, God Himself incarnate, that we shall carry this seed of God into space."
These words from 1972, in an interview to William F. Nolan, Bradbury talks about man and God and his relation to religion! Even in these matters he keeps his hope for a better world exploring space.

Bradbury , as always!

"(...)the cleansing process, the therapeutic process that should be going on between the writer and his typewriter, or his pen and ink, is cut across, then by this commercial function. And he begins to lie. and as soon as he begins to lie in his work, it becomes noncreative, nontherapeutic to himself, and nontherapeutic to anyone that reads him"
these words from Ray Bradbury have always inspired and guided me in my studies. I don't really see myself as a writer, because I only write academic works, but when I am doing them I have to feel what I am writing, I have to sence that my message is going to make others think, to give them new ways to follow.
Being a techer I have found in Bradbury my source of inspiration. He really believes in people and in their goodness, and he also believes that the future is out there for us to find together with new worlds.
Whenever I feel down his words and his faith in the human being pull me up.
Thank you Ray!

De regresso

Aqui estou!
